ECTEL

The Problem

The Eastern Caribbean Telecommunications Authority (ECTEL) needed to execute a Household Broadband Survey in the Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines as part of their mandate to have deep insight into the usage, quality and experience of the telecommunications services in the region. The research would be extensive and have to be conducted in several islands, some of which have populations who do not speak English.

The Strategy

A Public Awareness Campaign and Communication Plan to encourage participation in the massive research project. It included the development of a campaign platform (slogan and logo), television commercial (TVC), a radio jingle, online web banners, radio tips, creation and management of Facebook page, online tips, press releases, dissemination/media strategy and media monitoring.

The Solution

Accela Marketing designed and implemented a Communications and Public Awareness Campaign to sensitize the relevant target audiences on the aims and objectives of a household survey and thus be encouraged to actively participate in it and at the same time disseminate information on ECTEL. The organisation was able to develop one of the most comprehensive and incisive data resources on internet usage in the region.
