The Banana Industry Trust

The Problem

The Banana Industry Trust (BIT) needed to undertake the implementation of an eight (8) month Public Awareness and Education Campaign for the EU SFA2003 Environmental Management Fund (EMF). The overall objective of the EU Programme was to provide continued support to banana commercialization, agriculture and general economic diversification efforts through Integrated Natural Resource Management Project (INRMP).

The Strategy

Deep levels of engagements with the end users, the farmers and the rural communities. User-friendly guides explained simply while retaining all the vital technical information.

The Solution

A multi-tiered outreach that blended print, digital and grassroots engagement such as EMF-funded activities. Dynamic audio-visual presentations to community stakeholders, educating them on the main issues and progress of INRMP activities; TV/DVD documentary on INRMP; panel discussions; and web pages. Accela Marketing won the prestigious GOLD Caribbean Advertising Federation/American Advertising Federation ADDY AWARD for the BIT TV PSAs. The materials were deemed to be creatively exceptional, well executed and powerfully effective in communicating to the consumer.
